A Good Weekend

It’s been a good weekend. Started it off Friday night with Tyler and Ryan both being in town at the same time. Took them and Steph and Alyssa out to eat. It’s always entertaining to get them together. They have so many memories they’ve shared. So listening to the 4 of them talk about college happenings And the 3 of them reminiscing about the high school days and sharing videos and memories with Alyssa provides great amusement. We ran into several people at the restaurant we knew from softball and one of the teachers that I’ll say all 3 boys were lucky to have had. There are probably a handful of teachers that had all 3 boys. And I remember vividly always going to that first parent teacher conference and they’d be excited to have “another” Pearson boy. Next parent teacher conference usually went something like “he’s a lot different than his brothers”. Kaleb marched to the beat of his own drum and that made him special to us. I don’t think he ever realized how much we loved his kind of different.
Saturday brought a pretty boring day. I’m trying to stay off my knee that I hurt last weekend. Somehow missed a curb and hyper extended my knee last Saturday. (Don’t ask) Hopefully it’s on the mend. Did happen to forget about it long enough to start down some stairs and when I landed on the first step with that knee it went out from under me. So now my good knee is scratched and bruised and looks worse than my hurt knee. So that makes 2 weekends in a row I’ve provided some entertainment just trying to walk, Because I can’t do anything that isn’t witnessed by people. I did get out of the house long enough to take the dogs for a drive. They love riding. We’d be set if Nash could figure out how to jump high enough to get his fat a** in the jeep. Lifting a almost 50 pound dog in and out is a little much. There is no easy way to get him in the backseat of a 2 door jeep. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if I was taller than 5 foot.
We’ve spent all day at the house today, again trying to stay off my knee Jimmie prepped breakfast for us for the week this morning. And I did get the kitchen and dining room spring cleaned. The rest of the house can wait a little bit. Ryan and Alyssa stayed until about an hour ago which provided free entertainment for the dogs since I haven’t been walking them this week. I have been taking them out behind the fence everyday playing Frisbee with them. Or actually playing frisbee with Goober and giving Nash treats to run after Goober and back so he can get some exercise. He’s the laziest puppy I’ve ever seen. He’s like an old lap dog. He even lays down to eat and drink. As soon as Ryan and Alyssa left they collapsed in a heap in the living room and haven’t moved. We did figure out they must not like cabbage. Jimmie made cabbage with turkey sausage for dinner and neither dog even thought about begging, and that doesn’t happen. Must have been the smell.
Never thought I’d say I’m sad I get to sleep in this week. No Fit Body Bootcamp for a week until we know what is up with my knee. Tried going to Ab and arm day last week and just skipping leg day but when it hurts your knee to do arm day that’s when I caved and saw the dr. Yes, I know I work at the doctor’s office so why wait until Friday, but I was really hoping it’d heal all by itself.
So here’s to starting another exciting week at work. I’m off to ice my knee again. So when I’m asked if I’ve been icing it, I can honestly say I’ve iced it multiple times a day all weekend!
